Question 4:

Throughout my ED4135 blog i have incorperated multiple of the educational theorists.

The most predominate theorist I have used throughout the blog is Howard Gardner. Gardner developed the theory of multiple intelligences. He proposed eight different means of judging individuals ability. These are Gardner’s multiple intelligence:

1. Linguistic intelligence
2. Musical intelligence
3. Logical- mathematical intelligence
4. Spatial intelligence
5. Bodily-Kinaesthetic intelligence
6. Interpersonal intelligence
7. Interpersonal intelligence
8. Naturalistic intelligence
I have given numerous links to webpage’s on Gardner’s multiple intelligences. I found this was a site I used often. There is a picture that I used that links to this site below. http://www.studentretentioncenter.ucla.edu/sfiles/multipleintelligences.htm

The reason I included Gardner throughout the blog is because ICT tools such as computers cater for all these intelligences. Therefore using computers in the classroom would cater for all your students learning styles.

Piaget is one of the most influential educational theorists and therefore is mention in my blog. He identified the four stages of cognitive development which are: Sensorimotor Stage, Preoperational Stage, Concrete Operations stage, and Formal Operations Stage.
Piaget claims that every person passes through these stages in chronological order. Although the age of these stages varies, this is because each person cognitively develops at different times and paces.

Question 3:

Online learning is an excellent tool to use in education. It offers endless amounts of information for learning. Using computers allows us to learn any time and any place that has the resources. This is what I consider the best aspect of online.

From ED4135 I have gained much knowledge on how to use ICT effectively in a classroom. Online learning will be a major part of educating the student in the future. I have learnt that online learning can provide teachers will multiple methods for teaching students. An example of this is the webquest we made. This webquest allows students to learn about a topic individually but guided by teachers activity.

Overall online learning is a great tool to use in education as it caters for all students intelligences. I found that the best aspect of online learning is the readily available easy to access information.

Question 2: Inspiration

Game

I think it is important to make your blog interactive. It is essential to have links throughout that students can access relevent information. Another way of doing this is through a game. This image links to an educational spelling game.

Image

Without images on a blog it would only be writing. It would become hard to say enaged in the blog espeically for students. Not all students respond to words the learn better with examples in the form of images.

Video

A video is an interesting component of a blog as it allows you to view educational information. It would be an effective tool to use when teaching a class.

The components of an interesting blog

An interesting blog must include eye catching images and interactive activity for the viewer. This will make them stay engaged with your blog.
Examples could be:
• Sound files
• Games
• Visuals
• Video

All blog should also include links.
